A pesar de que en gran parte del mundo WhatsApp es la red social más utilizada para compartir mensajes instantáneos, Facebook Messenger no está tan debajo de ella, pues es utilizada por millones de usuarios a quienes se les facilita más contactar a sus amigos y familiares a través de Messenger.
Por esto último Facebook ha trabajado en innovaciones en el aspecto de seguridad y privacidad dentro de la plataforma; implementando así nuevas medidas para contrarrestar la propagación de noticias falsas. Una de ellas será el límite de reenviar un mismo mensaje a sólo 5 personas, ya sean chats grupales o individuales. Así fue como lo dio a conocer la empresa en un comunicado oficial:
“Como parte de nuestros esfuerzos continuos por ofrecer una experiencia de mensajería más segura y privada, hoy presentamos un límite para reenviar mensajes en Messenger. De esta manera los mensajes tan sólo podrán ser reenviados a cinco personas o grupos a la vez”
Esta decisión surgió debido a la situación actual del mundo en donde es necesario compartir información verificada del COVID-19 y todo lo relacionado a la pandemia. También un gran impulso fueron las próximas elecciones que habrá en países como Estados Unidos y Nueva Zelanda, en donde es importante compartir información real.
“Limitar el reenvio es una manera efectiva de frenar la propagación de información falsa viral, así como de contenido dañino que tiene la capacidad de causar daño en el mundo real”, finalizó Facebook en su comunicado.

"As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a safer and more private messaging experience, today we are introducing a limit for forwarding messages in Messenger. This way messages can only be forwarded to five people or groups at a time".
This decision arose because of the current situation in the world where there is a need to share verified information from COVID-19 and everything related to the pandemic. Also a big push was the upcoming elections in countries like the United States and New Zealand, where it is important to share real information.
"Limiting resubmission is an effective way to stop the spread of false viral information, as well as harmful content that has the ability to cause harm in the real world," Facebook concluded in its statement.
